SUNDAY 10 DECEMBER 2023
3.30-6.30PM WARING GARDENS

This free family event, celebrating and connecting community, will be held at Waring Gardens on the 10 th December from 3.30-6.30 pm.

In collaboration with Yarkuwa Indigenous Knowledge Centre, community can come along and learn more about and participate in a variety of creative activities such as string making and weaving, jewellery making, painting, and printing.

This event will also showcase and celebrate the Deniliquin High School year 7 Culture Project. Students in this program will be sharing some of their products they have created, participate in teaching the skills they have learnt, including language and music. The festive atmosphere will also include some easy -to-make take away Christmas decorations, just in time for the festive period.

People attending will be able to create their own small take-away products, but also contribute to bigger community art pieces in weaving and painting being created as part of the event. No previous experience is needed, and activities will be appropriate for all ages.

This a perfect event for families to spend time in the beautiful Waring Gardens, connecting,

celebrating, and creating with lots of fun for the whole family. There will be a jumping castle, games, face painting, sand trays and lots of crafts, as well as a free BBQ and other treats.

These events are made possible with funding from the NSW Government COVID-19 Community Connection and Wellbeing Program.
