Mental health month
Mental Health Month is celebrated each year in the month of October.
This awareness month encourages all of us to think about our mental health and wellbeing, regardless of whether we may have a lived experience of mental illness or not. This month also gives us the opportunity to understand the importance of mental health in our everyday lives and encourages help-seeking behaviours when needed.
Find out how you can get involved in Mental Health Month in Deniliquin.
The theme of Mental Health Month in 2020 is TUNE IN
Tuning In means being present, being aware of what’s happening within you, and in the world around you.
Taking a moment to Tune In can help still and focus your mind, it can help you understand what’s going on for you and others. Tuning in can help you find a new perspective, and it can help you reflect and be present.

FIVE IN FIVE Challenge
Deni MHAG is challenging and supporting the community to do the #Deni5in5 challenge during the month of October.
Our goal is to challenge the community to come up with their own Five in Five challenges - not only with regards to physical activity , but any or all of the "5 ways to Wellbeing" initiative
The challenge means you try one new thing from every " 5 ways" every week.
HOW TO DO THIS IN DENI?
Every Friday we will share the theme for the following week.
This will be done in the PT and on social media.
You join the challenge by doing or introducing at least ONE
new activity or action that fits in with the theme for the week.
Everyone can ‘try the 5’ at home, work or during study.
Do this quietly in your own space and own time
or share your challenges.
Challenge your friends and colleagues on your personal
pages to get involved and let us all work together to make
our community a mentally healthy community,
supporting and encouraging each other in the 5 Ways to Wellbeing.
Follow the Deni MHAG facebook page to get up to date challenges and information around this event throughout October.
Throughout October, we’ll be sharing evidence and practical tips around 5 different ways to improve your Wellbeing using these resources.
