OCTOBER IS MENTAL HEALTH MONTH AND THEME IS "LET'S TALK ABOUT IT"

ree

Deni MHAG does not wait for mental health month to talk about mental health and wellbeing or to raise awarness about pathways to help.

This is something we do every day and week and month of the year.

We all have mental health ( like we have physical health) and mental health is just part of health.

Ups and downs are a normal part of life, and we should not be scared or embarressed to ask for help when the "downs hang" around a bit longer or it starts impacting our day to day functioning and relationships.

Deni MHAG signposts the way to help ; whether it be that someone might need urgent help or just someone to talk to to "share the load".

There is a comprhesive service directory and information on where to start if we are not sure what to do to get help or to understand mental health better.

The theme of Let's Talk about It is also about being a mental health ally As a Mental Health Ally you can shift the world to be safer and more supportive for people experiencing difficulties with their mental health.

Stigma and attitudes of those around us and in our workplace is something that stops people from talking about their mental health or seeking help - so this mental health month, let's all aim to learn a little bit more, find ways to talk about mental health in a non-stigmatising way and show kindness and support to those around us.

We encourage people to look at our webiste, so when the time comes where someone might need support, we know how and where to find it.
